k, heres my problem Freshman year i slacked off, i had a B average that year, soph year i did well and beginning of junior year i had a 3.6 GPA I slid down quite a slipery slope this half year (im on block scheduling, so once you tripup theres no getting back on track) and im down to 3.1 Ugg... I worked out the stats and i have very little chance of breaking the 3.4 mark

My next semester classes are quite a bit easier, and my classes for senior year arnt bad, I could very easiliy get Straight A's in these classes

Now I havent taken my SAT's yet im taking them in April and my ACT in June (im a brilliant standerized test taker)

Damn your GPA is really low...but it also depends on your ec, teacher recommendations, what you really score on the SAT's and your essay. So, I wouldn't say that you can't get in..but just work hard to perfect the rest of your application.

let me just say that ec, teacher recommendations, and essay only play a minor role in the admission process at uconn. i know because a number of my friends had poor ec and a crappy essay and got in. uconn is mostly interested in gpa and sat scores because they are such a big public university. good luck!

I hardly doubt she would get into the honors program even if she destroyed the sats. Wouldn't they just show she wasn't living up to her potential, since they supposedly measure your performance in college.

I had about a 3.0UW/3.6W and I got into the honors college :) There is hope for you yet! SATs were 2150+ though, and I sent in extra recs and an art portfolio (but I doubt that helped that much since I applied as a bio major... lol)

Does workload count for anything (My school's choices are terrible because of the damm NCLBA we get no money from the state, so we've lost about 6 teachers who taught AP courses)

Ive taken 3 AP's so far, 1 honors, 1st half senior i have 3 more AP's
I am sort of a slacker, who sort of ruined his potential, who realized about a month ago that im not getting into any of the school ive wanted to go to since i was a kid. So i sort of screwed myself up, But i visited UConn and fell in love with it.

Another problem is due to block scheduling my Fall classes end on Feb. 1st and i would not be getting my grades till around the 9th and by then i cant send those in (during senior year) would they take my mid semester grades into consideration
