I see we are not the only ones very unhappy with the new website.

The font . . the pictures . . . the layout of the new site just does not say “professional”. There seems to be a loss of the portrayal of history, tradition, and quality. These are replaced with an amateur-looking generic commercial feel.

I would suggest eliminating the imbedded scroll boxes. I’m seeing little scroll boxes that go up and down plus one that goes left and right on the main page. These imbedded scroll boxes are so annoying. There is too much information on one page, too many little overly-cropped pictures, and the site is not attractive nor is it easy to navigate.

This is not an improvement from the old site. There is just way too much wrong here, and I would be very upset if I learned the university is spending big dollars for it. Please scratch.

I am sorry but I only looked at the new website briefly and felt compelled to respond. This new website is unattractive and its appearance is definitely not an improvement. I will look at it closer within the next few days but my initial first response was to return it to its old self.

In the request information page, the website asks for Citizenship. I’m an international citizen who doesn’t have a temporary visa. There are no tabs for me to check. That is pretty wierd and frustrating.

The new website looks too generic…too common…UR appears to have lost what makes it “stand out” amongst other sites. I vote the old site back in.

BigCheese–You should just go ahead and click “International (temporary visa holder)” because that is what you’ll have to be in order to come to UR. We’ll make that language more clear, but in the short run you can just click that button even if you don’t YET have the visa.

honestly, out of every college website i have been on (which is a lot), the University of Richmond’s is by far the best, most organized, most informative, etc. I think how it is now is perfect! By far the best thing on the site though is the virtual tour! I was very surprised, no other school has supplied such a tour of their campus. I really enjoyed it and have decided to highly consider applying to richmond next fall!

Wake Forest’s does seem similar. But if you want to see REALLY similar, check out UVA’s website. And that is not a comparison that needs to be made.
