hey. im wondering if anyone has done non scientific humanities research for urap. Im thinking about applying to some of the social policy programs and I'm going to be a sophomore in the fall. can anyone share their experience and accurately gauge the competition for this kind of work? Thanks

bump............

what's urap?

undergraduate research apprentice program

google "urap berkeley" and its the first thing

isn't urap the berkeley hip hop clubs annual rap festival?

I've applied thru URAP for a research position at Haas. The work has been pretty interesting and I would say it has not been a waste of time. The opportunity to network to grad students and your professor is very important. I have been offered interviews for several job opportunities, which I had to turn down since I've been booked for the summer.

I'm not aware of how intense the competition is since it was my first time applying, although expect more competition if you are applying to research positions concernining law and policy as they are very popular. Also, economics and business.
