Urban coed safety schools on the east coast?

I’ve looked at them, the net price is 29k living with parents lol.
I think I’ll gonna apply to UNC Chapel Hill early action, it seems like they give great financial aid OOS.

Are you no longer looking for safety schools? Because UNC and Wake won’t be.

I know they aren’t, I already have Temple and Drexel (expensive but might give merit scholarship) as safeties, I can’t find any others.

Stony Brook seems realistic

22k on campus, 16k with parents…
Duquesne University in Pittsburgh probably…still 10k with parents, 17k on campus.

Do you guys think I should focus on studying SATs over looking for schools?
Safeties can be less of an issue if I can raise my SAT scores, I haven’t been studying…

For example, IF I get a 2200, BC would definitely be a match instead of a low reach then right?

So now you’re wagering on a 200 point rise, instead of just a 100 point rise?

Yeah, if I actually study really hard lol, and I think it would still be smarter to study instead of looking for schools. Don’t have much time.

You still won’t be able to afford BC. Financial aid is not great.

It’s not either/or. U have to work both issues. There are no guarantees that u will score significantly higher.

Yea but I have been procrastinating with the studying.
BC covers 100% need and the NPC says I only have to pay 10k even if I live on campus, which isn’t that bad.

Penn state then

On their site, it says gpa counts as 2/3 of the decision and other things like SATs is the 1/3, the optional essay isn’t even considered. But the average gpa for their admitted class of 2018 is 3.51 UW ,and SATs are about 1800, so I think I can count it as a safety, financially though, still affordable if I get loans.

“What if I don’t like LACs?”

Then you need to come to terms with the fact that the eliteness you seek is not likely to be accessible to you.

Of course, elite schools and safety schools tend to be mutually exclusive categories.

I’m happy with Penn State  And Temple and Drexel.
That’s like 3 safeties right there, or at least PSU is close to a safety.
