I would second Cincinnati, Houston, Charleston, and Denver. Also Rhodes College in Memphis. If you are interested in STEM, you might think about Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Highly ranked and high starting salaries. Very innovative hands-on approach. Beautiful traditional campus in nice neighborhood near downtown Worcester, which is the 3rd largest city in New England. One hour train ride to downtown Boston.
