I want an urban college that is not an ivy league or anything. Just decent urban schools. I have a 28 act raw score and a 1250 sat, 3.45 GPA. I don’t know if this matters but I’m in National Honor society, 4 year tennis letterman, 3 year baseball letterman. I’m also from Arkansas which i guess is “diversity”. I would love if you guys could help me out. Thanks
Here are some:
College of Charleston
Univ. of Tennessee (basically downtown Knoxville)
Univ. of South Carolina (Columbia)
Univ. of Pittsburgh
DePaul Univ. (Chicago)
Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago)
Loyola New Orleans
Georgia State University
Temple University
Drexel University
Thanks
Be sure to talk to your parents about what they can contribute to your college costs, and run the net price calculators on college web sites to see what financial aid and net price may look like.
CUNY has several colleges in its system. If you take a gap year and work in the City you would qualify for in-state tuition.
Wagner–on Staten Island but kind of in nycity. They have a van to the Staten Island Ferry (free) and you’re in Downtown NYC.
Pace
Fordham
St. John’s in queens
Rutgers
NYU poly
WPI
Clark University
RIT
University of Cincinnati
Drexel - Right in Philadelphia, Great Co-Op Program
Ya I’m visiting Drexel this summer. I have some family in Altoona so I wouldn’t be far so I think it would be a good fit. Just so expensive
Drake University (Des Moines)
University of St Thomas (St Paul)
Creighton University (Omaha)
My friend’s son majored in CS at DePaul. Had good internships and a job right after graduation.
Try Rose Hulman, NYU, Purdue, Georgia Tech.
Northeastern would be a good choice but also a reach, but maybe if you apply EA plus being from AK, you may have a chance?
Also, you should retake your SATs.
Can strongly recommend College of Charleston CS department. Strong ties to the growing tech community in Charleston .
