urban environment

Son is looking for a school in an urban environment. Would NC state qualify as an urban school or more of a rural environment? Is there easy access to an airport there, or is it a couple of hour drive to the nearest airport?

Raleigh is the capital of NC and the 2nd largest city in NC. Here are a few links:

RDU airport is an international airport and is about a 20 minute drive from campus.

NC State is a relatively urban environment (downtown raleigh is about a ten minute walk away), filled with lots of rural people.

AKA: if your son is interested in the area, your good, if he is interested in urban people, you are in the wrong place. NC State is quite filled with a large redneck population.

^^^That is a gross and unfair generalization. My S and his friends who attended NCSU are def. not rednecks. Our h.s. sends a lot of kids to NCSU every year, all from an upper middle class suburban area.
