Urban Immersion 2009

Has anyone registered for the program? Did ya'll hear from them yet? I thought if you registered, you were supposed to know by June 10...

If anyone participated in Urban Immersion in previous years or know more about the program, please feel free to share your experiences, advice, etc. =)

I applied for the UI program as well this year, and I have yet to hear back. This is good to know that I am not the only one who has not heard back yet… hopefully it does not mean we were not accepted. I’ll be sure to let you know when I do hear back.

I was expecting some sort of email this evening from them as well! I took the lack of notification to mean a tacit rejection, but now I’m feeling hopeful again. Thanks guys. Anyone apply for the second session? :)

Ahhh, I am SO STOKED! I received an email at 9:57 P.M. Central Time notifying me of my acceptance into the program.

I just got the email (they sent it about 10 minutes ago)! I’m in the 2nd session. Anyone else?

Edit: Congrats Escapist! See ya in July!

I’m in the Second Session too  BTW, what’s your name? I’ll see you in the end of July!

I went last year - Urban Immersion is FANTASTIC! Volunteering is great, but the best parts are learning your way around Houston and meeting people early - seriously when I got to school for real everyone thought I knew EVERYONE already haha. You guys are gonna have a great time :)

Slik Nik:

I’ll PM you my name. I don’t know the type of creepers that lurk the Rice forum, after all. :)

Wish I could go but I’d be in China

I wish I could have done this, but I got an awesome internship for July so no dice :(

^^ thats a good reason to miss it. An internship will help a lot
