Hi, I am not sure if this is the best place to post this But, I just wanted to see if anyone had any insight. I am currently trying to figure out where I want to go. UC Berkeley has an Urban Studies Major. It is in their college of environmental design, it seems to be a textbook urban planning major. UCLA has graduate degrees in Urban Planning, but it doesn’t have any undergrad programs that seem to fit " Perfectly". I ended up applying as Public Affairs in the Luskin school of public affairs. They have a minor in Urban Studies, which I would do if I went.
I personally would rather go to LA for the social dynamics and other nonacademic factors. But, I worry that choosing the public affairs major over the Cal program would ultimately harm the career I want. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into either program for an aspiring urban planner?
