<p>Assuming I can still submit my app through the Common App site, do any of you think the office will accept my payment ($55) alongside the Pre-App (even though it was due “two weeks prior to the appropriate deadline”)?</p>
<p>I already have my Common App filled out (from previous colleges), and I do not want to go through Amherst’s own online application just to submit the fees by credit card.</p>

<p>i had this same confusion in applying - I sent a check, with my info on it, and I did not send the Pre-App. I also applied with the Common App online. I got in ED for class of 2009.</p>
<p>It says on the pre-app, I believe, that if you apply online, you should NOT use the pre-app at all. I think the pre-app is just to give them time to do data entry. Applying online takes away that chore from them.</p>
