urgent!! about the SATs in November

hey
i was just registering for the SATIIs
and i was wondering
what i have to put for "find score recepients"
it says "Search for the colleges, universities, and scholarship programs you wish to receive your scores. If you don't get the results you expect, try broadening your search or checking the spelling of a name."
Do i have to put schools i want to go to on the list?
PLease reply ASAP

You can request a score to be sent later.....there is no requirement that you list anything in the section you are asking about.

If you list schools there now, you can send reports to up to four schools for free. If you wait till later, you will have to pay to send reports. Also, if you send SAT I reports in the future, they will include your SAT II scores.

so should we just send them now because it's free? what if we haven't sent our college apps yet?

You can send scores at any time. The scores are delivered electronically to most colleges. If you do not have an open application when the scores are received, they will be kept on file until you send in an application. If you've already sent in an application, then the scores will be added to your file. I would advise everyone to send scores early on in the process so that if there is any problem with scores getting to the college, it can be resolved before the EA/ED deadline

The school will pull your scores out of their bag when your app comes to them. Many folks send scores to schools they NEVER apply to. It is like they sit on the shelf and never get picked up......no foul no harm.

what do you mean hazmat?

You can send your scores to any colleges when you register. If you later decide to apply there, they will have your scores on file. If you choose not to apply there, like hazmat said, no harm, no foul.

oh thank you tanman.

Ok..I've been wondering about this recently. What happens if you send your scores to a school in say, Oct, but you also take the SAT II's in Nov...and you do NOT write down the same schools as you did in Nov. Does that mean that Nov schools only get the scores through tests taken in Nov, but not in October?

Do they even look at the scores before you send in an app?

IE: I don't improve on my ACT/SAT and send it because its free. It looks bad it goes in the bad pile. Or is it like an anonymous name system until you apply?

I like being a name more than a number. Unless of course it's a named number...like pi or phi or e. Then certain people with to much time on their hands can know you very well...100+ places. :)

-Sock

SpookyAlien: In your scenario, the schools you sent reports to in October will have all your previous score reports (tests taken before October) - they will not get your November score report. If you take SAT II's in November and list more schools for score reports these schools will get your November scores as well as all previous score reports

Unusualsock - if you send in your score report and have not yet submitted your application, chances are that the report will be kept in their computers but will not be considered or look at. Colleges simply get too many score reports to consider each one unless you have an active application. (The situtation might be different at some very small schools, but even then, I would guess that they get way too many score reports..)

question for tanman:
so if i take the nov. SAT II and send the score to let's say Harvard.
and later in May, i take the SATI. is it okay if i still send the score for SATI to Harvard?

If you send scores in November and want Harvard to see your May SAT I score, you have to send that report to Harvard.

thank you for your reply tanman.

So what is the deadline for requesting free score reports?

Thanks for clearing that up tanman. That's actually pretty important to note.

what the deadline for requesting free score reports is?

tanman.. does that mean that although colleges see all your scores, you can always hide your newest score as long as you've sent all the old scores to them beforehand?

say for example.. i've taken the sat and sat 2 s already. if i have sent those scores to the colleges i'm planning to apply already, i can give one of the tests another try without them knowing?

that's interesting. thank you.

hey.. tht is indeed interesting........
so if u dont put down the schools when u register, u havta pay later????? i tot u can send up to four free ones anytime...
