URGENT: Accidentally applied to Regular Decision instead of Restrictive Early Action

Title says it all, i have no idea what to do, and i sort of feel like crying at this point.

Is there anything I can do to change this?

Will this affect my chances in any way?

Please help...

First thing Monday morning call the school (hope it is not in the hurricane path) and explain to them what happened. Since your application went in clearly before the cut off date for early action it will show them that that was your intent.

Try not to agonize. I imagine they have the ability to go in and move your app over to early action.

Make sure you get the name of the person who you speak to if they say they will make the change so if you need to call back to check anything, you can ask for them directly.

I would also ask if you will receive some type of confirmation from the school that they do in fact have your application for early action like an email or letter.

Call the school’s undergraduate admissions office ASAP on Monday (during office hours) to explain your mistake. I’m almost certain that you’ll be able to switch. Don’t worry!

Well, the school’s office seems like it will be closed for tomorrow too due to the hurricane…
If i contact them after the November 1st deadline, will they not allow the change? My application was turned in on the 27th of October

Send your Admissions Rep an e-mail prior to Nov 1.

how do i find out who the administration representative is?

Search the admissions page for the rep that covers your area. If you don’t find it, then call and ask.

What if EA decisions came out today and I didn’t realize I applied regular accidentally until now… I applied in october way before deadline… @OperaDad @anonhello2013 @Lakemom @thebrainyone

@marismarino2017 I’m sorry this happened but there is nothing you will be able to do about it as the review/ admissions process would be over if EA decisions came out today. RD will be here before you know it. Hang in there!
