In a thread I made earlier i mentioned that Pomona wasn't an option...and now it is. I sent in my SIR to Yale but I already don't like Yale. I feel like it isn't what I want...it is on the east coast (which I hate) and the campus just did not make me feel at home. I didn't like how gray and dead it felt. I also hate the weather immensely and would probably just not fully enjoy my time there. My gut is screaming Pomona and all of the cons I just listed do not exist for Pomona.

I have 3 hours to decide whether to go to Pomona...please help.

So, you don’t think turning down Yale would be a mistake?..

No. If you already hate the east coast, I assure you that it won’t get better! It sounds like Pomona is a better fit for you, and you probably plan to stay on the west coast after graduation, so go for it!

I agree to go with Pomona! A west coast school will give you west coast internships and west coast job opportunities if you want them when you finish. Pomona is awesome, and you’ll find the same high caliber students you’d find at Yale. There really is no downside, that I can see, if you love the west coast.
