I'm having a meltdown right now. I paid and submitted my GWU app via Common App on the day it was due. I received a Common App Payment Notification email.

If I paid, it means that I must have submitted, doesn't it? I know for a fact that I did submit and I'm pretty sure that receiving this receipt means that I did because you can't pay before submitting.

However, I logged onto the Common App today for really no reason at all and saw that my GWU app has NO green checks on it on my dash board. Both the app and supplement portion have yellow dots.

I will call the admissions office but it's too late today and I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this. Thanks.

Payment is the first step in submit. You now have to actually go to GWU section in your Common app and press submit. You will then get a signature page. If you did not go through the signature page and press submit there then you did not actually submit. I recommend go do that now.

BTW - do not panic. The CA had so many issues that I would be shocked if GWU did not accept your application.

No. All schools are the same. However, schools without an application fee go straight to the signature page.

Again, if you did not get a page where you check off you understood the four terms of the submission agreement and then had to type your name and then you did not submit. If you did that, then it’s an error.

Oh so I guess I did not do the last portion then? I have another question. Why does the Common App still allow you submit applications after the deadline? Is it because they’re just the vessels of sending the application to the schools?

I went back and checked off, signed, and submitted just now because it wouldn’t hurt since I already paid the fee.
