My parts of the Duke App (1 and 5) can definetely make it in time for the app deadline, but my counselor and teacher recommendations may be a day or two late. Will they still accept them?

They have to be postmarked by the deadline. I'm not sure what they say about Counselor Rec's and Teacher Rec's, but they may go easy on you. Don't forget the stamps now cost $0.39 and if you use the old stamps the reciever has to pay the difference. So, please remember that, because Duke may get upset if you make them shell out $0.08 for a late application. Ha... I'm joking on the last part, but be mindful of the stamps.

that's the problem...i don't kno if they'll go easy on me if the counselor/teacher reccs go in late...will they just throw em away?

I highly doubt they will just throw them away. That would be rather stupid of them. And I mean provided you gave your teacher's enough time it isn't technically your fault if the papers don't get their on time. You did your best. I would perhaps send them an e-mail stating this story and try to explain to them that you have the papers on their way and such. But, I don't think they have a box for late papers that just get burned. However, it might be wise to give them a head's up and to let them know that your are most definately interested.

how long do you think they'll still accept materials? one week after the deadline? two?
