1-Are we supposed to write down the non-academic awards we received in the Additional Information section?
My friend has a number of short story awards and she said we're supposed to write awards like them in the Additonal Information area.

2-Also, is there a format for the Additional Information area?
Like preferred length?
I don't have enough space in the academic achievements area to record all mine, but I only have about two more to put in... does it look too pompous to include them also in the Additional Info, when they're only things like school awards?
If I don't put them in though, which I got in my junior year, it looks like I only got awards in freshman and sophomore years..

3-ANDDDD a big issue...
We're supposed to type in the courses we're taking in the first semester of our final year in high school and such, but our school system is such that students take the same eight courses throughout the academic year.
In what way am I supposed to write those down?? Just write all of them down in the first semester area, then repeat in the 2nd and 3rd semester areas????

4-This question is from a friend who doesn't have a CC account...
"For the Family section, I am supposed to write down my father's occupation but I can't find it!! He's an optometrist."

Seems to me that short story awards could go under either academic or additional info.

No real format, just try to be as brief as possible. Just note in the AI section that it is a continuation of your academic awards. Put down the best awards you have, 2 in the AI is not a problem.

Yes, when classes continue the entire year, you just put them down for both semesters.

I’m assuming you’re doing this online, isn’t there an “Other” & explain category.

I was sure my mom attended graduate school so I looked up the CEEB code but couldn’t find it. So I put down 0000, for Not Found, but now she tells me that she didn’t go to graduate school!!!

SO I get this message on the commonapp.org site…:

"Since you provided a response to ‘Parent 2 Type’, please provide a response to the ‘Parent 2 Grad Degree’ question. "

How could I do so when she doesn’t have a grad degree!?
And I can’t remove the 0000.

Not sure here as I haven’t worked with the online version. Can you edit it to exclude the grad school 0000 and save it (like you would if you were making a new version of an essay)? If not, you should be able to call up the CA and ask them how to change it.

Thanks!
I e-mailed CA but haven’t gotten a reply yet I guess I should just put “Did Not Attend” for grad school name and select “None” for the degree…
And - is “dermatologist” also under health practitioner??

by the way, u can add a resume under the additional info so that all of your achievements are included in the app (no character limit on resume)
