I have my first test coming up in calculus 2 and I'm freaking out. My syllabus doesn't have grade breaks so I have no idea what a C, B, or A is but like I don't know if that means there will be a curve or not? My teacher won't say.

If anyone's taken m408L, can you please say if you got a curve (I think all the classes are standardized so the grading policies should be relatively the same between teachers)

If you did get a curve, how much was it? Also, is this class really as hard as I think it is? Is it impossible? Are the tests harder than homework?

You could also try posting this on the (open) UT Class of 2011 Facebook group - lots of sophomores there, surely someone on there took 408L last fall or spring.

Cal 408L is one of the classes that is including in the free tutoring and appointment tutoring. You may want to set up a study group with your classmates to help each other out before test.

Don't panic go find help at the tutoring centers.

Gualdani is a terrible teacher. I had her last semester for Matrices. I thought I was doing "bad" in the class after the first test.. ok well not that bad. But anyways, I had like a C after the first test, and I ended up making an A in the class somehow after ending up with like an 82 average in the class. She curves ALOT for a math class, but do not expect her to teach, she is just plain bad. She isn't mean or anything, she just doesn't have the capability to convey math in a way that is understandable.

About pickaprof... I looked that professor up but she has no past grading history showing on her profile for 408L. Her overall rating is only 1.5 out of 5. In 408D (a similar class) she had 31% make an A and 27% make a B.
