I'm doing Phase II now!

Well I signed up for Math 54 no thanks to you guys. I have a horrible schedule:

Maybe you can answer another one of my question. I watilisted for Math 53 along with a DIS class that is at the same time as the Math 54 DIS. Now Telebears says for status (on the waitlist class): (This class has a time conflict with another class on your schedule.)

I plan on dropping Math 54 once I get 53... so will that notice have a problem with me getting the class?

53 and 54 can be taken in either order. Did you check the math dept. website? The answer is on there.

I did. Which is why I went ahead with it. But it says I should cover ODE and something else, I have no clue about.. Ugh

Don't worry about them. They'll be explained to you in class.

Many people take Math 53 and 54 with AP credit and turn out just fine.

Look at the chapter in the Diff. Eq. book about solving ODEs and you should be fine with Math 54. This isn't necessary, but it'll give you a leg up at the end of the semester if you haven't covered it before.

is there any reason to take math at berkeley if you dont have to?

To learn and challenge yourself, of course!

Also to realize what people are talking about when they say Berkeley has one of the top math departments. The wrath of the program is unfathomable until you've been in the mouth of the beast.
