Hello, I am just now applying to this school because I just realized how perfect of a fit it was for me. I previously wanted to stay in state because of tuition, but my parents have agreed to pay for out-of-state tuition if I attend a good school. So, I am kind of late in applying =(.

Gender: Male
Applying to business school.

--- Stats ---
3.8 Unweighted GPA
AP Classes taken/taking:
AP World History (10)
AP US History (11)
AP Computer Science A (11)
AP Calculus AB (12)
AP Physics C (12)
AP Computer Science AB (12)
AP Statistics (12)
Almost all of my other classes have been Honors (besides this year with regular language arts)

Not sure of class rank...probably top 10-15%

SAT:
700 Math
580 Verbal (bad, I know)
680 Writing (will this help at all?)
Total: 1280/1600 or 1960/2400

Not many school EC's but the important ones I am taking fill up the positions on the application sufficiently and fully. Also, I have been working voluntarily (unpaid) for my dad for 2 years, and I plan on writing about that in one of my essays. I plan on discussing how my dad's business influenced me into going into business, particularly marketing (because I saw and somewhat participated in my father's advertising strategies)

If I do not get into this school, I plan on going to UGA (18th in undergrad. marketing). So, if I do not get into Illinois and attend UGA for undergrad (>=3.7). What are my chances into getting into a good grad. school for marketing? And what are some of those good grad. schools?

U of I Business school has a good reputation nationally but it seems to me your GPA is very good and SAT is ok, it could be better- U of I admissions is very much a numbers game and especially considering your GPA I think you have a very good chance of getting in

Your SAT is low, but should be good enough combined with that GPA and your 7 (gulp) AP classes. Remember that UIUC makes no distinctions between in-state and OOS students in admissions (frankly they want more OOS).

theres no way to be able to guess chances for getting into an MBA program before you even start your ugrad work. youll have to first finish 4 years then pretty much 1-2 years at a job and take the GMAT before you can even go for the MBA. who knows what will happen between now and then. u of i is great though!! haha

and I just have one more question...
I sent my SAT Scores today (Nov 30) and the report said there would be 3-5 weeks until delivery completion. I already turned my transcript form in to be sent by Dec. 15 (deadline) and I'm going to finish my online app. by then, also. So, is it OK that my SAT Scores will be late but still come in the month? I read on the website that they accept until January 3, and everything should be in by the 15th...that is a reference to SAT scores right?
