Urgent College Decision, Need Help

I went to Ithaca College last year with the intention of transferring to Cornell at some point. It worked out and I am here at Cornell as a sophomore. The thing is, I am having a miserable time. My housing assignment makes it impossible for me to easily meet people. I miss everything about Ithaca. When I visit I am very happy. I spoke with them about the possibility of enrolling for this fall and just heading over there before add/drop ends and they said it was fine. I would of course not give up my spot at Cornell, but rather take a leave of absence and return next year probably to get the degree that I want. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Any other advice or thoughts? Thank you so much.

I think you need to pick one and stick with it. Why would you try to attend both?

I want to attend Ithaca for some more time because it is where I enjoy being. I want to finish my degree at Cornell for the opportunities that such a degree would give me.

Sometimes you can’t have everything you want. Decide what is the most important to you, immediate enjoyment or long term opportunities, and act accordingly.

When an employer or grad school looks at your transcripts and sees that half your education was at Ithaca, it effects your overall picture as a candidate. Also, a large benefit of top colleges is the network you form. You have to actually be there to do that!

As Entomom said, choose.
