Urgent common app question, please HELP!

I am applying early to Beloit (deadline's tomorrow) and haven't written my common app essay yet (horrible, I know). I am using the common application online but just discovered that once you submit your application to any one school, you are blocked from changing your essay.

My essay might end up being OK for Beloit, but without additional editing it may prevent me from getting into more competitive schools later. I've already sent my transcript and had my teachers send recommendations so waiting to apply is NOT an option.

So my question is:

Could I upload my essay for common app, print my application out but NOT submit it online, mail it to Beloit tomorrow, and still be able to change my essay for schools that I'm applying to regular decision? I feel like I could write something decent for Beloit and get in, but without editing, I cannot see myself getting into anywhere more competitive.

Please help me with anything you know.

Here are instructions on how to make alternate versions of the Common App so you can change your essays for your regular decision schools.

yup you can. i would just send it by mail... so that you know the essay version you wanted was sent. and then for the RD schools, read through the how to make an alternate version page of the common app, since you will have more time later.
