<p>For my sophomore year, I have a D in biology for one semester and then an A for second semester, but my mom is making me retake the first semester online. However, if I'm planning to major in communication at UCSB, does that D in biology still matter....?
Also, I have a C in Geometry from 9th grade... does THAT matter?</p>

<p>Your C in Geometry is considered passing. The Biology D will need to be made up. Be aware that some online courses do NOT meet UC requirements. Check in to them carefully before signing up. Can you retake next year in summer school? Another option is to take the SAT Biology subject test and get a score of 540, or possibly use Chemistry and Physics to meet the requirements. Talk to you counselor about this.</p>

<p>UCs only look at grades from your sophomore and junior year. So work extra hard next year! Good luck.</p>
