Hi I need advice asap since the SAT is 3 days away.

I signed up for the Dec SAT I during October. However, after a relatively satisfactory Nov SAT score, I decided to take the SAT II this coming Dec instead. I planned to go to the test center to tell them that I'm taking SAT II instead of SAT I. However, my friend says that you could not do that and instead you should sign up for the SAT II at the first place on CB. What should I do? Is the verification process for SAT I and II different at test centers? Could I come to the center and ask if I could take the SAT II when I registered for the SAT I?

I'm really freaked out right now!!

Okay I just called the SAT and they said I should have changed test type 18 days before test date. If I could get to the test center early that day I might be able to sit for the SAT II depending on the vacancy.

Has anyone had any luck going to the test early in hopes of changing test type (SAT I to II specifically).

I just want to cry right now :'(

yea just walk in that day to a test center and register as stand-by lol

that’s what I did

But the thing is I already registered but for the WRONG SAT (I instead of II) so I’m not sure what I should do. The lady on the phone said to arrive early and check for SAT II vacancy at the test center. Has anyone tried to do that and succeeded?

You can walk in that day and go to the SAT II registration place.

Yeah but I just need some reassurance from people who have done this type of thing before so I could know that my attempt to change SAT test type on the center itself will not be totally futile. I need something to calm me down otherwise I could not study for the SAT IIs which are 3 days away ■■■■!!

Edit: I know vacancy varies among test centers but my fragile heart just needs a little soothing right now lol

Grow a pair of balls and stop whining. What possible use would other people telling you about their experiences with a totally different test center help “assure” you? Each test center has different capacities… it is impossible to determine whether or not you will get a seat or not. I’m not criticizing you for registering early and determining to take another test… that sort of stuff is common. But when you come here and try to get assurance about something you know we can never answer, it really ticks me off.

Suppose I say, no… you have absolutely no chance… would you actually stop trying? Of course not, you will go to that test center because there is still that small chance. Stop being a drama queen and deal with it…
