URGENT: CSS Profile

Hey guys, I'm a senior in high school, and there are two questions on the CSS Profile that I'm not sure on how to answer.

How much did you or will you receive in scholarships, grants, and gift aid during the 2009-10 academic year?

Enter the total amount of grants, scholarships, fellowships, etc. including AmeriCorps benefits you received or expect to receive from sources other than the colleges or universities to which you are applying. (List sources in Explanations/Special Circumstances (ES).)

For the 1st question, does it mean how much aid I will get for college NEXT year from what I apply for this year? Or does it mean how much aid I will get FOR the 2009-10 school year... when I'm still a senior.

This goes into the 2nd question. Is the 2nd question asking for what I expect to win from scholarships for the 2010-11 school year (when I'm a freshman in college)? Scholarship recipients for many scholarships aren't announced until next year, so I don't know if I will win or not. In the Explanations/Special Circumstances (ES), do I list the scholarships that I have already applied to or also those that I plan to apply to? (The ES section states to list "information for any outside scholarships you have been awarded.")

Or do I list anything at all, since I don't know what scholarships I will win?

Thanks in advance!

The thing with the Profile is that it’s the same for freshman and continuing students, thus, as a fr applying for the first time, these questions often don’t make much sense.

For the first question, you wouldn’t have received anything since you didn’t attend college this year (for continuing students, they would state the amount they have gotten to date plus whatever else they are to receive the rest of the school year).

For the second question, you would only put scholarships that you have definitely been awarded when you fill out the Profile, you don’t have to say anything about ones that you’ve applied for but haven’t been decided yet (for continuing students, they often have renewable scholarships and so can state how much they will receive the following year).
