Urgent: Did anyone not get the "gut feeling" but still choose Dartmouth?

I went to Dimensions and thought it was fun, but never had the "gut feeling" or passion I've had about other schools. That said, I have tons of analytical reasons (undergrad focus, great programs in my interest, Dr. Kim, prestige/connections, etc) for choosing Dartmouth. Did anyone have the same experience? How has life at Dartmouth been?

I have two days to choose...that's why it's urgent!
Thanks for helping!!!

Hey univlife. I didn’t get the “gut feeling” from Dimensions either (I did get the gut feeling, like WOW, HOLY, I JUST HAVE TO BE HERE feeling when I visited Princeton, but alas rejected T_T), but I chose Dartmouth, mainly for those very reasons that you pointed out.

My only other choice was Cornell, which was overall very nice. But it ultimately came down to how I wanted my undergraduate experience to be. I wanted the undergrad focus and the prestige/connections (I feel Dartmouth is a step closer to “greatness” than Cornell even though the margin is very slim after HYP). The biggest difference between Dartmouth and Cornell was the size. Dartmouth I felt was more down-to-earth and more intimate. The number of students shooting WHOO! COME TO DARTMOUTH! was just overwhelming. The only thing about Dartmouth that turned me off was the frat scene, which I followed my friends to, didn’t feel the vibe, and left. But apart from that there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about Dartmouth, though there wasn’t much about the campus that triggered a gut feeling. I do think that I will be happy at Dartmouth though since most students at Dartmouth are. Plus, most of your time, regardless of where you go, will be spent learning, studying, and working. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy Dartmouth too.

What are your other choices and what are you planning to study?
