So I just went onto the Common App to submit my ED application to Brown, and lo and behold, when I clicked on the supplement I saw this had appeared above the part where you can click to continue to fill out the supplement:

" ED Agreement: Since you indicated that you plan to apply to this institution via the binding Early Decision plan, you must complete and mail the ED Agreement to this institution."

And there is a link to the ED agreement next to it.

Now, I could be going crazy, but I swear this didn’t appear until today, nor did I know that this had to be mailed instead of done online.

Anyway, my counselor is no longer at school, and I need his sig. for this, so I’m not sure what to do. Can I submit my app. today and mail the form tomorrow? Thanks for any advice.

Right now it seems like that’s pretty much all you can do. I doubt a day will affect it too terribly much. Definitely submit your app. today, and I guess just mail the form tomorrow. You could try phoning admissions to explain, but my guess is that they’re closed my now.

The fact that I either didn’t see this or it just appeared in the past couple days really bothers me. Can someone tell me if they noticed this (or didn’t) earlier?

I’m pretty sure you need it if you’re doing ED anywhere, since it’s the form that legally obliges you to attend if you’re accepted. But I might be wrong…

whash - that link comes when you fill the ‘future plans’ section and indicate you are EDing to that school. If you to fill in that section last, then that could explain why you didn’t see it…

Teacher recommendations and the ED form are allowed to be a few days late - your application is not. Adcoms understand that your teachers are busy, have many recs to write, and may not get everything out on Nov. 1st.
