My parents are trying to force me to apply ED1 to NYU Stern, but I don't want to apply ED because I'm really interested in UCLA and UC Berkeley right now and I'd probably choose either of those 2 over NYU. However, I'm also afraid that I might not get accepted to ANY of them because of my low stats (will elaborate), and that ED may be my best shot of getting into NYU, which I can gladly settle for. Which do you think I'll have a better chance for, ED 1, ED 2, or RD?

NYU accepts 20+ people every year, so it'll probably be more lenient for students at my school. I'm an Asian (sucks), NJ resident
GPA: ~3.3-3.4 UW (upward trend)
SAT: 2220/1470 (retook in Oct and confident I got a 2250+)
SAT II: 800 chem 800 math iic
AP: Straight 5s for chem, bio, music theory, calc ab, english language
Sr sched: AP stat, AP econ, AP calc bc, AP lit
ECs: I'm positive they're above average for NYU

of people applying from my school: Should be around 60, and maybe ~10 people to Stern RD and ED.

I'm aiming for a 3.8-4.0 for 1st semester of senior year. If I get that, will I have a better chance for RD/ED II instead of ED1?

Also, is it true that NYU Stern cares about test scores a lot more than most schools do?
