URGENT Financial Aid Suspension

My husband was on this last semester and got an appeal approved so everything waqs ok. But it put him below the 2/3 academic thing. So he had to appeal this year and it wasn't approved. We have to pay everything out of pocket and school starts in 3 days. Does anyone know how to get the money with out going through the school?

I’m not sure I understand your question. what type of loan and why was it denied? thank

What is 2/3 academic thing?
How many credits has he completed & how many attempted?
Did he not finish last semester?

He had to drop out last spring due to personal reasons. And failed alot this semester. He can’t get any financial aid for this spring and I am tring to figure out how to get loans. I think if its a private loan like from a bank it will work, but really don’t want to go that way. Is there any loans we could get that doesn’t have to be paid back until after her graduates? The 2/3 is how many completed and how many attempted

If he isn’t able to succeed in school- perhaps he needs to take a break and reevaluate his program. Once you are put on academic probation there should be clear steps followed to continue to qualify for financial aid.

There probably are private loans but you may need to start paying those back right away- they also often have higher interest rate.

Is attending a community college to save money a possibility?

No, and if he goes to another school this semester off he still won’t be able to get money next fall. Or if he takes a break his loans will go into the grace period. This is just so stressful. We live away from the school and we just the money for housing to pay for our rent so its very important we find other loans

not sure what this means.
If he isn’t able to pass his classes, why would he want to get farther into debt?

Sorry i meant to say instead of a dorm our housing allowence goes to our rent.

He’s not a bad student. It’s just been a rough year school and personal year for both of us. We need to make a better life for us. And don’t wanna give up because it’s hard thats why we push ourselves to do better. No one said college was cheap lol.

It sounds as if both of you don’t work and/or earn enough to pay for expenses other than tuition and fees, is that right? Are you a student as well? Unless you have family that will pay the necessary amount until he’s back to 67%, I don’t think you have any choice other than to apply for a private student loan. How many credits does he need to complete to make SAP?

The SAP policies got much tougher starting this year, because federal regulations require schools to be tougher. Many students will find that they are on suspension and the appeal is denied … when in the past they may have been approved. If an appeal is denied, the student will have to prove that he can do well & then he will be eligible for aid again. That means private education loans, if the student must borrow to pay for school.
