I've been checking my emails frequently and i havent received my actual award yet. So i found that i never submitted my "Dependent Verification Worksheet" or "Enroll in/Update Direct Deposit Account Information (Strongly Recommended)" Or at least i dont think so. I thought after my FAFSA, i was done. Was i suppose to do these?

Other people were filling it out and talking about how it was late on CC and you didn’t do it? That verification worksheet (I hear) is necessary to getting your financial aid.

I found out i was looking at the wrong checklist after wondering why i didnt get my awards yet ):

Well the good news is, other people have said the financial aid office is lenient when it comes to receiving documents - I don’t know if this for sure though

so my best bet is to mail it in ASAP? I dont have a fax machine so should i rush to find one?

I would definately call them and go to Kinkos or something like that and fax it ASAP!

From the other thread, i read that i need to have an appeal letter. Do i email them, write a letter, or fax them? I can’t find where it even says i need an appeal letter.

I plan to submit my w-2 forms + 1040 + Verification worksheet for dependent students tomorrow ASAP. Do i submit an appeal as well? Please help. I’m scared for my life here.

The Financial Aid office opens at 10:30 tomorrow morning and I would call them first thing. They will be the most knowledgeable about appeals and will tell you what they want from you. (858) 534-4480

I called them. All he said was submit all my information, and i had to mention if i should do an appeal.

Not very helpful at all, but i guess the CC people here are very informative. (:

So today, my financial aid checklist is complete. How do i know if they approved my appeal and when would i get my official awards?

Help?

10char

keep calling and ask them how long its going to take for your appeal to go through. be insistent. they will try to blow you off and tell you “oh the process is going on, just wait.” be a little ***** and keep asking, but even though you are trying to be a little *****, be respectful. try to get a definitive answer when your appeal decision is going to come out. they might budge, they might not. keep checking your financial aid every day on tritonlink and check your email. they will email your ucsd email and also on your financial aid, it will tell you that there was a revision to your award if your appeal went through. though my appeal process last year went on through early august, so you need to chill and be patient.

After they received your financial aid forms, how long did it take them to say they approved your awards? I at first believe that they approved your appeal before checking off your checklist but i guess i thought wrong.

what happened to me was that i noticed around 2 weeks after the deadline that i was missing a document, so i sent it in immediately. and on the checklist, it was checked off once they received it like a week later, so i thought i was fine. but then i got my award and it was significantly lower than what i thought it would be, so i appealed. in around early august i believe, i got a message that my financial aid award was revised, and when i checked my award i got what i expected in the first place and my appeal went through.
