Hi guys, I live in Canada and I need to take the ACT in February so that it will arrive to colleges on time. I have two questions.

Do all colleges accept the February score? I am a senior applying to Harvard, Penn, Yale, and Columbia.

In Canada, ACT test dates are only offered in October and April, does anyone know if I can go to a USA test centre, even if I am Canadian?

THANK YOU!

The ACT with writing is not offered on February test dates for international centres.

Check with each college to see if they accept the February test score.
Edit: I’ve checked up the colleges for you.

Harvard: Applicants must submit the results of the SAT or ACT with writing and two SAT Subject Tests even if they are submitting the results of their school leaving exams. The January administration is the final testing date for candidates.
<a href=“http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/international/tests.html ”>http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/international/tests.html
;

Penn: Regular Decision candidates should complete all testing by December of their senior year. First-time testing delayed until January will place the applicant at a disadvantage in our evaluation process. Tests retaken in January will be accepted.
<a href=“http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/testing.php ”>http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/testing.php
;

Yale: We will not receive scores from tests taken in April 2011 in time for consideration. We cannot guarantee that February 2011 ACT results will arrive in time for consideration. To increase the likelihood of a timely report, take the test in December 2010 or before, and list Yale as a score recipient.

Columbia: For Regular Decision candidates, scores for January tests are generally received in time for consideration, but it is strongly advisable to take testing no later than December. Testing taken in February or later cannot be considered.

Yes you may go to the US to take the ACT. That would be good as the test centres there would offer writing.

where do you see that ACTs are only offered in October and April? On the ACT website they don’t really deem Canadians as “internationals” as every time they mention international they say (except americans and canadians)
