Urgent help needed! Mid-year report question for SCEA

My d is applying SCEA to Princeton. We just found out that her ranking has moved up to third from fifth out of 740 after her first semester in this senior year with five AP classes (3As and 2 A-). All her grades are As so far with only three A-, and majorities are A+, (most rigorous classes possible). Regarding mid-year report for SCEA, Princeton website said “if possible, please ask your college counselor to submit any senior grades if your high school has them available.” Should she ask her counselor to send her mid-year report to Princeton, or is it too late for SCEA?

Also, since she still has more schools to apply to, should she use the updated ranking and transcript instead of the original one? (Her GC has assigned the original transcript on the common application site). Really appreciate your help.

Yes, update her transcripts. Also, call Princeton and ask if they would use the mid-year report. Congratulations to your d for her great grades!

Princeton might still take the updated transcript, so ask her counselor to send ASAP.

^^ For all candidates (SCEA and RD) the mid year report is due February, as it is supposed to contain grades from 1/2 of the year. It sounds like your daughter’s school is on the quarter system and their isn’t official paperwork to update quarter grades. Your GC could fax over an updated transcript, but realize that it is very late in the process.
