Urgent Help Required....

<p>I am an international student and my admission notifications from all colleges have finally come out. Its time for me to make my final decision between
1-Michgan, Ann Arbor
2-Univ. of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
3-Georgia Institute of Technology
4-Purdue University.
I am interested in joining the COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING. Leaving out the financial, climatic and geographical aspects of these univs., I want to know which of these is best not only in terms of academics, but also in terms of
-student body friendliness
-course load
-attention from Professors
-asian/indian population, clubs
-best placement options after undergraduation
-chances of getting into a prestiged grad school (like MIT Caltech, etc)after undergraduation from these univs
-industrial recognition of graduates from these univs, etc.
I hope the replies that I get will help me in making the perfect choice.
Thanks</p>

<p>I think michigan has the best rep out of all of these schools. however, you won't be getting much attention from the profs (well, not until you reach some of the higher level courses).</p>

<p>Michigan has no doubt the best prestige among those schools for engineering. So in other words, I'd rank them the best for </p>

<p>"-best placement options after undergraduation
-chances of getting into a prestiged grad school (like MIT Caltech, etc)after undergraduation from these univs
-industrial recognition of graduates from these univs, etc. " </p>

<p>Can't talk for the rest yet though :/</p>

<p>In Atlanta, home of GTech, there are very few Asian / Indians. Being a tech school, the campus does have a relatively larger population, but it is much smaller than a place like Chicago.</p>

<p>Michigan is probably similar (I think I remember reading that population in Ann Arbor is only about 10-15% Asian)</p>

<p>See now why would you post that on a Michigan forum? </p>

<p>I would rule out Purdue and Georgia Institute.
Michigan and Illinois are on par in attention from professors , indian populations. Student friendliness would depend on your nature itself </p>

<p>However , I think Michigan would have the edge in best placement options ,and it is an excellent feeder school to top graduate school programs</p>

<p>Michigan over Illinois for me. But as I said - you are on a Michigan forum and opinions from some could be biased</p>

<p>Michigan is the best out of the choices listed above.</p>
