If I want to send some additional information to colleges such as elaboration on some of the math competitions I've been to and some of the online classes I've taken, should I send colleges a letter in the mail? Or since it's getting late and adcoms will start to review apps soon, would it be better for me to email each of my schools and attach a word document with the proper information inside? That way, schools could just print the attachment and include it in my file rather than having to wait for it in the mail to arrive (and it might not arrive after all).

It would be best to fax or overnight a hard copy to the schools. Many don't even look at e-mail for applications material; they look at e-mail to respond to questions.

Or you could just call the admissions offices and ask which they prefer.

Thanks. I can call them, but that would take a while (I am applying to 12 schools). Faxing sounds like a good idea. I should probably include a note at the top though if I fax it so it doesn't take the school by surprise. Also, is it possible to fax in color? I thought of including a picture of myself.
