I also applied to MIT early, and their site is nice in that they tell you when they receive each piece of info. And for MIT, they still haven’t received one of my teacher Rec letters. I’m afraid this might also be the case with Penn, but I have no idea since Penn’s site doesn’t provide that info. Btw, I never filled out that online teacher rec info thing.

You applied early to 2 Schools??

when i called admissions they said if the letter u recieved has a pin # in it then that means nothing is missing from your app, but i applied early and from talking to admissions i got the impression that they haven't sent rd letters

They're supposed to send a postcard telling you what's missing from your application if you're missing anything at all.

jhum, MIT is early action, and so you're allowed to do that.

CMH, thank you, that's a relief since I did get the letter with the username and pin #.

i dont think you can do that. early decision (at least with penn) means only one school early decision OR early action. you can apply rolling though. look in the penn admissions booklet. it clearly describes that.

No.

You can apply Early Action (NOT single choice early action), as long as both the early action school and Penn are cool with it. And Penn is.

Does this pin # only apply to those who applied online...or for the ones who mailed their stuff in as well? I just got an email with a nine-digit number in place of the social security number which they told me I would use at Penn if I got accepted. Do people who mailed their application in still get to check their decision online?

Iris, I applied paper, and I got the 9digit # and the pin.

i think they only send the pin number if theyve received everything, i know penn hasnt received everything for me cause i just rushed sat scores in

what if you sent your scores regular for october...i know they can take a while to get there...you ugys are making me a little nervous

it should be there by now or real soon

October scores sent regular are fine.
November scores have to be rushed for ED'ers.

MIT is not SCEA?? thats a first

Wait, I got my PIN number and I know I'm missing something because I didn't rush my November scores yet (if only I knew what they were... I'm still wondering how the stand-by kids find out their scores).

it seems like some ppl got letters and some got postcards...

i got a postcard about my application and a letter for the pin

the pin is also known as the "PassCode" right? It's for viewing your admissions decisions?

That's the one, njchino. :)
