URGENT! I have to turn my App within 3 hours..need help..

I posted this in the "College Admissions" forum. Sorry for the double posting. But I need this question answered within the next 2-3 hours!

I took 3 community college classes over 2 summers.

I got one grade from each class.

These colleges usually run on, as they're titled by the colleges, "Sessions." e.g. Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer session.

For the UC apps, it says "Pick what grading type the school does. Full (for 1 grade per year), Semester (2 grades per year,) and so on." I marked the schools as "full," because I only got one grade for them. But my friend says to mark them as "semester." But I only got one grade! The UC website says "If you do not know, use the number of grades you received to determine the grading system." What do I do?!! Thanks!

ALSO, I took my Visual/Performing Arts credit at a local Community College. I would mark that on my academic history as a class I took at THAT college right? My friend got into a whole argument with me, telling me that i mark it as a high school course. she's driving me crazy.

Alright, let's stay calm. As to your CC class, it's on the semester system, so although you did only receive one grade for the class, it is a college class and should probably be under the "two grades per year" area. Now, even if you're wrong here, it's not really a big deal, because the admissions people will know, and think "oh, cc classes . . . great." Not, "Hmm, this person put the wrong grading type- rejection" . You really should call, because the application isn't due for a few days.

As to the second question, if you took it at a college it's a college class, but if you used it to satisfy a high school requirement, it is considered by the UC people a college course. How you indicate this on your app, i don't know, but this is what I heard from the counselors last year.

Phew! I'm glad you're awake at this hour, DRab. Thanks a lot!

-I took the art class (Art 101, history/appreciation of western art) in order to satisfy the UC system's V/P art requirement. not my high school's (my hs doesn't have an art requirement.) so i would mark this as a college course, right?

You know, I'm starting to think my friend is crazy. As far as placing Art 101 as a high school class...that's impossible, as far as I know. The High School has a set list of classes that I can choose. I can only check in classes that are offered at my HS.

I can only place ART 101 under "Community College courses." I think my friend is wrong, but once again if you could just reassure me, that'd be great. Thanks again.

What else would people do at four in the morning?

Here's this

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/adminfo/transfer/advising/admission/clearing.html

but that doesn't say, it just says you can do what you did to fulfill it. It doesn't specify as to how you would put it on the app, but don't you just put it down in the year you took it and say you took it at the cc? I think you would put college course on it.

Alright. I'm going with that. Putting it under the CC and saying i took it there. They can't ding me for lying, because that's the truth of it! Thanks a lot DRab. I'm about to send my app in.

So be it. I hope it goes well. Remember, you could hold it and call an adcom, or send it in. You'll be fine either way. Best of luck!

UH:

you could always call online Tech Support -- they are working over the weekend.

Argh! I can't revise this sentence appropriately. Here it is...

I am confident that UC Berkeley could provide a rich environment to illumine my intellect and satisfy my curiosity.

How could I revise this sentence to better represent all of the UCs?

Please advise, time's short and the website is finally working!

wrong thread!

I am confident that the University of California could provide a rich environment to illumine my intellect and satisfy my curiosity?

You might want to tie intellect and curiosity together.

UC Berkeley's application is whack.

thanks, since I only applied to UCB, I said University of California, Berkeley
