Hi, I have to make my final decision on my junior year schedule by Friday, and I'm in a dilemma over whether or not to take AP US. Here's my tentative schedule for next year:

AP Calc BC
AP Physics B & C
AP Psych
AP US History
Junior Gifted LA

The reason why I feel like I should take it is b/c I didn't take AP World or AP Human last year. Everyone else is ahead of me in that respect, so I feel like I need a SS AP. On the other hand, i don't know if AP US + Calc BC + AP Physics will be too much work to handle/get an A in every class.

Do you understand my dilemma?! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

APUS has been my least demanding AP class this year.
Obviously, that can change depending on the teacher, but I say take it.

^ APUSH is typically one of the /most/ demanding (in time) of APs. I use AMSCO for all my tests and get A’s on all of them, but there’s still work to be turned in that takes time.

This year I took far too much, so taking that many APs (AP Physics is not something fun to have to do in your spare time I imagine) seems a bit unwise.

However, what you might do is just start of taking APUSH. If, in time, you find yourself overwhelmed, then just drop it before it will show up on your transcript.

@ hobbithill? What classes did you take this year? I agree with what you’re saying, but at the same time I didn’t take AP World OR AP Human, so I feel guilty/behind my classmates in that respect. That’s the ONLY reason I feel pressured into taking APUSH. Otherwise, most of my classmates taking Physics B & C and Calc BC are NOT taking APUSH.

I would take it. It is by far my most challenging and time demanding class, but I love it. I have learned so much and I think it is important to have a really good grasp on US history. I struggled a lot with the quizzes first semester and got a B, but I have learned how to study and have brought my grade up to an A while maintaning A’s in other honors and AP classes

^^ this year I took
orch
honors math analysis (IB HL 1)
ap art history
ap bio
Mandarin IB SL
apush
ap lang

My situation is just a torrent of “busy” work. I think it would be worse if I had to shortchange doing Physics problem sets rather than doing bio notes. Do not take classes just because of other kids. Those kids are not taking Physics C nor or they in BC.
