I have a question regarding the parent information. I only live with one of my parents. The other one lives overseas, we have limited contact with him, and he does not contribute financially. Do I even put his information AT ALL?

"Please list the adults who have legal rights and responsibilities toward you. If a minor, this is usually one or both biological parents when living. If you wish, you may list in the Additional Info area of the Writing Samples section step-parents and/or other adults with whom you reside, or who otherwise help care for you. You may also list additional deceased parents."

Can you put his name down and say exactly what you just said here? That seems to be honest. Hard to say if he has "legal rights and responsibilities" if he is not in this country; if he has any they may not be enforceable.

Yes, you have to mention your other biological parent. Whether he has exercised them or not, he has rights to you. Only if your parent is deceased do you not have to list.

We have the same situation. There is no choice but to include since the parent is neither deceased or "unknown". It's a required field, leaving it blank will not allow you to submit.
This info has no bearing on admission or financial aid issues. It's just data.

We put the other parents name, and for address and things that we didn't know, but "unknown". My ex doesn't provide us with any contact info and hasn't spoken to son in 4+ years.
