<p>So my mom just informed me that one of my schools (Swarthmore) required an extra form that I need to fill out. Problem is, it was due mid-February. It's a soft deadline but I feel like the 25th definitely doesn't fit into it. I know I should have been staying on top of this myself but my parents told me I could trust them to handle this (so that I could focus on searching for scholarships) and I did, and now I'm screwed because of it. I'll try to get it in today but I think it might be too late and I don't know what to do. Should I just turn it in and hope for the best? Should I call the financial aid office, and if so what can I say to try to make this work?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)</p>
<p>Turn the form in ASAP…and contact the school to see what that will mean. If it’s a supplemental form, they may be understanding…but get it in NOW.</p>

We’re turning it in today; I was just wondering what else I should be doing (I’m about to email them and I’ll call on Monday when they’re open but I’m not really sure what I can say other than that I screwed up). And I meant that it’s a soft deadline in that there wasn’t a specific day that it was due, although we’ve clearly missed it anyway. :(</p>
<p>And to be clear, we’ve turned in the FAFSA and CSS and are working on our tax forms, so it shouldn’t look like we’ve been slacking off on this process, just that we made a regrettable oversight. Do you think there’s a chance they’ll see that we’ve been trying and give us a second chance?</p>

<p>Re: what else should you do? Check the deadlines for required submissions of things for ALL of your schools!!</p>
<p>E-mail them this weekend and then follow up with a phone call. Hopefully they will understand. I helped S2 with supplemental type deadlines and forgot to remind him of one that fell right after the holidays during his application cycle. The college accepted the form when S2 contacted them but I felt really bad. Recheck all your deadlines. Good luck!</p>
