Urgent!!! Need Help

Is it worth taking the sat one more time (if I take it again it will be my fourth time) to increase my chance of acceptance at Harvard? I think I can improve my score by 100+ points. Does Harvard look down upon people who take the SAT more than 3 times?

Also I came across this website: http://blog.eprep. com/ 2006/08/03/taking-the-sat-too-many-times

Is what the website says true about harvard? By the way my reading is only 660 math 750 and 680 writing. Thanks everyone. If I'm going to take it again I have to sign up today.

Pretty much debating whether or not to take the test

You get diminishing marginal returns, but only your highest score is considered. The blog is right.

To be honest, if you're dead set on Harvard you need to retake it. Harvard looks at an applicant like a package, where class rank, SAT, significant extracurriculars, awards, etc. are all fundamental parts of building an entire package. The best packages get in.

Your SAT is low by Harvard's standards. Unless you are exceptional in everything else, a retake would be strongly recommended.

So definitely retake the SAT if I want to stand a chance in the admissions process? Also not to change the subject but I'm also applying to Duke, does anyone know if the same can be said about Duke; will they look at my fourth SAT (if I decide to take it) without penalizing my chances for taking it more than 3 times?

Retake it unless you have some phenomenal other features in your application.

Same goes for Duke. I don't think a school like this would penalize you for taking it multiple times. Usually the highest score is only looked at, but your application stands as it is as a whole -- the lower grades will still be seen. Higher, more recent grades can only help.
