Urgent: Need postmark today

My s just asked me to read over a scholarship app and when I got to the bottom I saw that it needed to be postmarked December 1, which is today and it is already 3 PM. Our post offices close at noon on Saturday (he assumed they were open til 5 like the rest of the week) and P.O. box pickups have passed as well. Is there a way to get a postmark today? I couldn't find anything at the usps site on first glance so I thought maybe someone on CC had faced this before and might have a suggestion. Thanks!

Unless you have a main branch post office someplace nearby that has Saturday hours, you might just have to send it by FedEx or DHL, something like that.

Try this link to locate a post office near you that might still be open:
USPS.Find a Business/Standard Search - United States Postal Service

Xiggi posted about using the USPS website to print out labels if the PO is closed: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/282400-why-not-january-2-even-irs-switches-day.html?highlight=USPS%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/282400-why-not-january-2-even-irs-switches-day.html?highlight=USPS</a>.</p>

Otherwise, try a Fedex, Kinkos w/Fedex, or UPS. Hope that helps, good luck.

we live the burbs of Chicago and when we had to get something in the mail that night, we drove down to the main post office downtown - a main office like was already suggested, but we got the piece in the mail.

Thanks for the replies! We used the PO Finder link above and found a post office in a town half hour away that was open until 4PM. DS got there in the nick of time and watched them postmark the app.
Fall back would have been to print the label online and send Priority Mail on Monday. I had already thought of that but wondered if it would let us print a label when there was no way to really mail it out until Monday from this location. Xiggi's post answered that question.
DS may or may not have learned something about procrastination, but I think he'll forever remember that the post office closes early on Saturday.
