URGENT:NYU & New York City Residents

Hello,
I was told that New York City Residents do not have to pay for the application fee to apply to NYU. Is this true? I need to apply today so I'd like to get a yes or a no quickly.

If it is true, what do I need to do to get this service? I'm clicking the submit button but they want the fee.

Thanks.

Anyone!! Someone!! Helppppppp!

You were lied to.

I am not sure. I used a fee waiver so I didnt’ have to pay!

You were probably lied to, but if it WERE true, you would have had to get one from your high school or guidance counselor. So you’re out of luck.

That’s a lie. There’s no generally applicable NYC exception.

I paid the fee, I live within NYU territory. One of my friends paid the fee, he lives in NYU housing

Unless you have a fee waiver, you have to pay the fee even if you live on the moon

I realize the deadline is already passed but I’d just like to say that this is true. I live in NYC and when I applied I got an email saying that NYC residents don’t have to pay the application fee. I simply clicked the waiver button on the online application, that’s all. I didn’t get any special permission or anything.

It’s the only reason I applied because I hadn’t even looked at the school, and they accepted my application. Just for future reference.

Lauren is right. Fee waived for NYC students to encourage them to apply. This seems to be a secret on the web pages, but they do send the e-mail out.
Don’t know if it is based on High School address or home address. In the case I know of, both were NYC.
