Urgent Parking Question for Family Weekend

For this Thursday, for all day and until after the football game, I have reserved a spot at the Parking Center garage. Is it safe to walk from this garage to campus during a weekday morning? After the game, which ends about 9 to 10 pm? I think I saw a note that they run a shuttle bus from the coliseum to this garage after the game. Is that true?

If it’s the USC Parking Center garage, it’s on-campus. You’ll be fine. You can cross Exposition safely to get back on-campus. DPS and LAPD are posted all over the edges.

If it is the parking center off of Hope Street I would take the shuttle both ways. It would be fine to walk in the morning but it is a little bit of a walk. There are lots of shuttle busses that will be waiting after the game to take you back to the parking structure. My son parks here on game days and said the shuttles work out really well.
Have fun!

Parking Center is the big structure on Jefferson just east of the 110. To be safe, take the shuttle.

That area is much better than it used to be. Streetscape improvements to the underpass, which improvements were paid for by the developer of University Gateway – plants, bricks, and most important, better lighting. And with the Flower/Jefferson Metro stop right there, there’s generally more foot traffic in that area.

But it’s generally pretty desolate east of the 110. Better safe than sorry.
