Hello! So it is the end of my junior year, and I want to take a class over the summer so that my application looks better, as well as study for the SATs and subject tests. I will be working 2-3 days a week; do you think it is possible to do all this and take both AP gov and Spanish 4? I'm very interested in the two classes, but did not fit into next year's schedules. Would doing all this be possible, or should I pick one of the two classes? If so, which looks better to take? This is pretty urgent, because I have two days to decide. Thank you so much for your advice, god bless!!

IMHO one online class in the summer is enough. They are accellerated and take a lot of time. Have you taken online language before? Not all high school classes are at the same level and Spanish 4 online might be out of sequence (cover different material) than what is done in class at your school. (if you did all Spanish classes on the same online school you would be in sequence). If you take Spanish 4 online and return to your high school classes you could be out of sinc as well. I know of one high school student who attempted Spanish 3 online after being in the classroom, and found that he was not very prepared for it by his high school classes.
AP Classes on the other hand, are more uniform in what they cover. Some have pre-reqs and some don’t. Look at the syllabus to see. Also, they are not part of a sequence- when you are done you are basically done, although you might not remember it well next May when the AP test is given. By then though, you will have decided on a college.
If you have taken all spanish online in sequence with the same school- then you can choose either one. If not, AP Gov might be the better choice.
