I have a science sat subject test that i took, got a pretty decent score
I also took a math 2 sat subject test that i bombed, high 600s
So my dilemma now is, i'm not sure which test to take.
Should I retake the math 2? or should i focus my attention on another sat subject test (history or literature)?
Or should i try to juggle both?
I am applying early to cornell hotel.

Re-read the application requirements for the Hotel School. If they don’t require Math 2, concentrate your energy on an exam that you believe you will get a better score on.

Hotel does require math 2 but i was looking at some stats and i saw people with similar math 2 scores as me getting in

The hotel school requires math at either level, but you’re probably better off taking Math 2 than Math 1. The hotel school looks a lot on fit and experience more than scores. Don’t take another subject test since the only one Hotel requires is math and you already have an additional one. You can retake the math one, but honestly if you don’t get in I doubt it will be because of that math score.

So you know where I’m coming from, I’m a Northwestern graduate that currently helps students get in to college.

650 is probably a minimal score for Math 2 for Cornell. 700+ to be safe. The Hotel program only requires a Math Subject Test, so in agreement with what others have said, I suggest you focus on that rather than another. Also, I’m sure you know about it already, but you also need to do a mandatory interview BEFORE submitting your application.

Also assuming you will be applying to other schools besides just Cornell, the most common requirement for SAT Subject Tests is Math 2 and any Science. So if you make those two look good, it’ll give you a lot more choices than if you had 3 tests with Math 2 being moderate.

As a side note, on timing, if you’re applying to Cornell Early, you will only have 1 chance(Oct test date) to take 1 test before the deadline. However, for Regular Decision (for either Cornell or other schools), you do have a chance to take more than 1 test, so why not? Focus on Math 2 first, and then do one more just to give you the full range of options.

Can’t i take november test for early decision?

no, the scores won’t be back in time.

Regarding the Nov test, for some schools yes, for Cornell, no.
