Urgent, Please helpe me decide

I just received a mail from University of Massachusetts Amherst today that I have been accepted in to their Commonwealth College(their Honors) program and I will be majoring in the Isenberg School of Management.

Thus, since my admission was late, I was two weeks to decide (but the actual Mail was written in May 1st, which would mean I have 6 or less days left to react).

Prior to this however, I had been accepted in to Boston College (w/o honors program) to their school of Arts and Sciences.

Currently, I am not well known to the US college status (afterall, I am an foreign student), so can anyone help me decide which is better (and perhaps better for me in the future).

Thanks guys! (and girls)

Anyone with any input?

The two schools are radically different.

Boston College is just outside Boston, with a classic LAC-type campus. It is a competitive, prestigious, Catholic school known for its "preppy" (upper class) students - not that the reputation is necessarily accurate.

UMass Amherst has more than twice as many undergraduates, with no city within easy reach. It is a public university (with some highly regarded graduate programs) that has been somewhat in financial straits in the past few years, as have been most public universities in the US. UMass Amherst belongs to the five-college exchange, which means that you can take classes at nearby--and more prestigious-- Amherst, Smith, Hampshire, and Mount Holyoke.

If you haven't decided what you want to study, I'd go with Boston College, especially if you like the idea of easy access to a city. There may be programs that are better at UMass, however, so you should check out your likely department.

Boston College is the better institution. U Mass. is a safety school for many Mass. students who apply to BC. I have visited the BC campus and know 2 professors there who are happy that their extremely bright son chose to attend BC.

BC also has the advantage of being right next to Boston. It's in an urban location that's blocks away from a subway that will take you into the city, one of the best in the U.S., and one with many interesting things to do.

I have not visited U Mass., but if you like cities, it is not in one.
