So, I just found out that I've won Second Prize in the National English Contest (I'm an int'l from Vietnam). I know it's too late in the game, but adcoms do read apps to the last minute, so should I update them on this award? My school list is:
Amherst
Brown
Cornell
Harvard
Princeton
Wesleyan (shortlisted)
Yale (yeah, you got it, no safeties:()
I must admit this is an extremely prestigious award (it automatically entitles you to a seat at the college of your choice). *The problem is, I'm under the impression that a second prize of any kind is mediocre to most if not all the colleges above. *To the best of my knowledge, I'm not competing with the first-prize winner at any of these schools, but I may have overlooked;) So, the question is: do you think this update will factor in the decisions at all, and if it does, positively or negatively? Sorry if you think I'm a troll or overachiever or anything, but the rest of my apps don't look too good so...
Thankx everyone:)

Bump on it......tell it to them right now...send an email immediately....posting in CC wont do you any good!

since you don't have a safety....
absolutely you should update
you are sort of overthinking this.

Then why not have safeties?

Thankx, you're like giving me a reckless frame of mind;)
@BLY: b/c I ask for A LOT of finaid. I guess my app is mediocre at these schools but pretty competitive at many other schools. But then they don't give out so much aid;)
