Urgent question about admittance rescinding!

Hello all, due to some personal and familial matters throughout the semester that was incredibly difficult to overcome (It's over now!), I will most likely be getting a D in my English class which will result in my admittance to UCI being rescinded. My question is that can I make up that D, get an A, and reapply next year with high hopes of getting accepted once again? Will UCI see that my admittance was rescinded and reject me based on that or do they have a short memory when it comes to that?

Also, would the fact that I will still be eligible for TAG come fall help at all? I was a non-tagger for the transfer term this year and was accepted so will I be able to TAG despite all this? Is doing TAG a 100% guarantee that you are automatically in if it is accepted? I was generally mostly an A student with a few B's sprinkled in before this semester so if that trend continues and if I make up that D, I should have about a 3.6-3.7 GPA AFTER this fall semester so will my chances of being re-accepted by pretty high?

Absolutely. If you make up your grade and pass it, they will only count the passing grade. You can definitely TAG to Irvine as long as you make that grade up. Make it up by the end of Fall though. UCs don’t like to see repeat classes in progress becuase they worry if you fail again and they will have to rescind your acceptance, so they might be hesitant to accept you as result. If you have TAG (with all requirements being met of course), you’re 100% in. But with a 3.6-3.7, you should have a great chance to all schools, not just UCI, without TAG. UCI does not evaluate for TAG early (at least for past years), they wait until they process all applications, so don’t worry if you have that class in progress during Fall. Just don’t wait until Winter or Spring to take it, they don’t like it, and you might suffer as a result. Take it in Fall or this Summer. I’m sure you’ll get into most, if not all schools you apply, depending on your major, as long as you make up the class by Fall. :)

I have a similar problem. So I admitted to Davis with a TAG and as a Political Science major. My PGA is 3.3. But I just learned that I will be getting a D in my Spanish class. I needed to take Spanish because I did not have 2 years in Hight School. What will happen? Will Davis revoke my admission? Or do you think they will admit me and let me take a language later? I have dyslexia so foreign languages are extremely hard for me. Is there any possibility they would waive this requirement given my condition?

English (unlike Spanish for me) is offered during the summer. See if you can take it then.
