Urgent Question about interview dress

I have an interview today at in office building in my area. The dress is "business casual", so is a nice knit dress okay? I hate wearing pants & skirts, so it's much more my style. I just don't want it to be TOO nice. I wore a similar outfit for another alumni event for the same school, and I definitely fit in fine.

If it helps, this is what it looks like http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=249176&CategoryID=26861&LinkType=SiteAd&LinkLoc=5449&AdID=35921 except I'm short so it's longer & it's a black & white print.
thankssss.

oooh i like that dress =)!
i think it should be fine

guys should go dress shirt/pants/shoes. i think suit is overdoing it. Tie optional (i didnt go with it)

uuuum I'm not a guy? hahaha.

super18blue, is the dress almost knee-length for you? If it is, it may be OK for a younger person. However, I would not wear that dress for a job interview (I've had a share of those in my life). Good luck!

Admissions offices tend to be very conservative/traditional even at the most liberal colleges. Stylishness is less important than dressing as if you mean business. Don't emphasize even your most flattering parts as you don't want to distract the interviewer. I know an interviewer who gave a girl a very poor recommendation based on her distracting outfit (or lack thereof). Also important: make sure you have no hair in your face and do not touch fiddle with your hair during the interview. The dress in the picture is nice. However, unless you're interviewing in a place where the weather is comfortable enough to be wearing a dress like that this time of year, I'd propose a neat, solid color blouse and formal pants/skirt.

wear lingerie. keep them on the edge of their seats and you're bound to get in, right?

This is an interview with an alum, yes?

Pros of this dress: cute, memorable color, fact that it is a dress at all and not jeans.

Cons of this dress: depending on how your body wears it -- cleavage and short hem could end up revealing more about you than you want.

Accessorize: maybe a chunky but tasteful necklace -- don't over-do with too many chains, etc.

If you want to play it safer, wear a jacket over it that makes it appear more like an ensemble.

If you want to play it safest, wear a suit instead of a dress.

If it was me, I don't think I would wear that, it's not 'revealing' by everyday standards, but for an interview it might be a bit too short? I guess it depends on your height.
