Hi all,
Would you list the pros and cons of USC over cornell engineering. I will be able to study biomechanical engineering at USC, and I will move there with my research professor at Cornell. I am planning to get pHD in that field.
What do you think? Can I get into top grad school after USC?
Thank you very much

I know that USC has great facilities (particularly Ronald Tutor Hall) and programs in engineering. The Viterbi School offers a top grad program (currently tied with Cal Tech for #7). I would check with USC about progressive degree programs in engineering. I know that USC as a whole plans to expand five year progressive programs where students as a whole can earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in 5 years. If you enter such a program, you can be assured admission to a top grad school.

lots of people go on to grad school from USC undergrad. You can either continue on directly through a progressive degree (as mentioned above) which is a 5 year, BS/MS in engineering, or go to other schools.

Last years engineering salutatorian got a fellowship to be a phd student at johns hopkins, in biomedical engineering, I think...

I havent heard of this 5-year programs, where can I find detailed information?
