Urgent Question - Form 1a

Form 1A says to apply to ONE school. I’m applying to either Wharton or the College. If I apply to Wharton and get rejected, do I automatically get considered for the College?

If this is not true, it may pose a problem because Wharton is more difficult to get into than the College, and if I apply to Wharton and get rejected, I may not apply to the College.

It's true: you're only allowed to apply to one school. If you select Wharton and you get rejected, you are not considered for the college, sorry.

If I remember correctly, if you are applying for the Huntsman and possibly some of the other combined programs, there is the option to put that you would still like to be considered for admission to the college if you are denied admission to the program.

Are you sure? How do you get this information?

If anyone else knows the answer, please respond ASAP and explain how you know the answer.

Thanks so much!

There's actually a place where you sign for that option (if you're rejected from a joint program, you can still be considered for a single-degree/single-school option). I believe it's on the application (paper) and it's definitely on the online application.

This refers to the Wharton question, not the dual program or the Huntsman program. If I check "Wharton" on Form 1A and get rejected, do I automatically get considered for the College?

No, I'm positive from when I applied that if you are not applying to a special program, you can ONLY apply to one school. If you apply to Wharton and don't get in, you're SOL in terms of using the college as a back-up.

If you're rejected from Wharton, you cannot be admitted into the College in the same year.
